We are so glad that you are interested in learning more about foster care and adoption through our counties!
Arapahoe and Jefferson Counties have joined forces to recruit, train, certify and support foster families throughout the metro-Denver area. These families provide care for children who cannot remain safely in their home.
Foster Care
The sad truth is that there are more children who need temporary care than there are caregivers, and we are asking for your help.
Can you provide a stable and caring home to embrace foster children with challenging behaviors, value their family connections and provide a home free of abuse and neglect until they can return home, be adopted or live independently?
Adoption
There are also foster children awaiting adoption who cannot be reunified with their families due to unresolved concerns for their safety and well being.
Can you commit to adopting children who have experienced loss and trauma and offer them a lifetime of unconditional love and support?
On average, there are more than 1,000 children combined in out-of-home care and 60 children awaiting adoption in Arapahoe and Jefferson County at any given time.
