Welcome to the Collaborative Foster Care Program of Arapahoe, Douglas and Jefferson Counties

Video Player

We are so glad that you are interested in learning more about foster care and adoption through our counties!

Arapahoe, Douglas and Jefferson Counties have joined forces to recruit, train, certify and support foster families throughout the metro-Denver area. These families provide care for children who cannot remain safely in their home. On average, there are more than 1,100 children in foster care and 40 children awaiting an adoptive family combined in all three counties at any given time.

Families are needed who can handle the challenging parenting situations and commit to being "on duty" all day, every day to foster and adopt. These families must be able to provide for children unconditionally and know that even when they do not feel appreciated, they are helping to prevent future cycles of abuse, and giving a child hope.

Foster Care

Can you provide a stable and caring home to embrace foster children with challenging behaviors, value their family connections and provide a home free of abuse and neglect until they can return home, be adopted or live independently?

Adoption

Can you commit to adopting our waiting children who have experienced loss and trauma and offer them a lifetime of unconditional love and support?

To learn more about the Collaborative Foster Care Program, we invite you to attend one of our monthly Information Nights.

"To hear a child laugh and tell you that they love you
after all they have endured is so incredible."
